Meet Our Team

Meet The KirbyWest Team

At KirbyWest we've been blessed to have GREAT customers. We've also been blessed to be associated with tremendous lines of equipment like Ryobi, Sakurai, Baumfolder, Saber, Prism and more. Our mantra has been and will continue to be "if we give enough people what THEY want, then we, in turn, will get what WE want." We are here to serve. We are here to build our customer's businesses. We do that through consultative selling where we provide our customers with choices of equipment, acquisitions plans, ROIs, justifications, and strategies to help them maximize their profits. We believe if we do this then we will earn our customers' trust and their future business. We are proud and happy to call many of our customers, friends, and are grateful for the opportunity to help them achieve their dream. Pictured below are Ryobi 750 Series owners Tim Danley, Mike Matchinsky and Tim Kirby with Ryobi personnel at the Hiroshima East factory.

Our Philosophy:

At KirbyWest we believe that if we help printers get what they want, then we, in turn, will get what we want. To that end, we are committed to the profitability and success of our customers. We know what it takes to help good printers become GREAT printers. We will share our knowledge and our talents to help our customers achieve their goals thereby achieving ours at the same time.

Tim Kirby- Owner / Principal

Tim Kirby began selling Ryobi presses for Smart Supply in San Diego while in his 20’s. When International Paper sold the Smart Supply branches in California and Hawaii, IP (now xpedx) who imported Ryobi into the US, offered Tim and his partners the Ryobi dealership for Southern California. Tim and the team at Prism Lithographic Technologies achieved #1 Ryobi Dealer Status all through the 1990s with 7 straight years of earning that distinction primarily by selling larger Ryobi presses to the SoCal customer base who knew about the outstanding reliability and print quality of Ryobi. Tim was then recruited by IP/Xpedx to manage dealers and sales efforts throughout the West as Western Regional Manager and then as the National Sales Manager for Ryobi/Xpedx. In 2009, Tim left Xpedx and began KirbyWest Printing Equipment in Austin, TX where Tim had relocated for Xpedx. Dave Nantz later joined Tim and the company returned to Phoenix/Scottsdale where Tim lived from 2000 to 2005. Tim and family live in Scottsdale.

David Sartain

David Sartain has experience with Agfa and Presstek and launched the Ryobi DI program with Presstek as a technical guru/service technician. “David was always our go to guy when there was a technical issue on a DI” says Tim. When KirbyWest was born in Austin, David, Tim and Dave joined forces. Working together, this team has put out many, many DI presses and have supported them with service and support spearheaded by David. David also serves as a liaison between Vim of Israel, manufacturer of Direct Image plates for DI presses. David has worked with, tested, and approved the DI supplies that KirbyWest brings to the DI customer base and is here to meet your technical needs.
